Hi all.

I've only managed to find Hama beads at the stores around here, and I notice they have Mini (2.5mm) and Midi (5mm) sizes. Can anyone let me know which has the closest size to the Perler beads? Thanks!

I'm pretty sure you're looking for 5mm ones.

Yup. Midi id the way to go.

Just bear in mind that the Hama beads are slightly narrower in circumference, which may make fusing difficult or cumbersome at times. It takes some practice-but there's nothing more frustrating than removing an ironed piece from the pegboard and having some of the Hama beads stay behind. Mad

Thanks for the answers. I might just order some Perler beads off ebay instead.

I have a 5000 multi pak of mini hama and the bag is about the size (volume) of 1000 perler... Just as soon as I sort them (bleh) and get a mini pegboard, I'll make a coin sized mario... probably won't be for awhile though... and I'll probably ONLY make a mario, any more and I'll go insane... they are soooo small, I've only organized about 100 and that took me several hours...
