Hey everyone. Just wanted to get my first post out of the way. Saw some bead sprite art about a week ago and my natural obsession for anything pixel art took over so I gave it a try. I love it. Have only done 1 so far of Mario from Mario 1. Plan on doing more this weekend but I gotta get a bigger board... I'm gonna hit up AC Moore or Michaels on the way home.

I've read a bunch of stuff dealing with techniques and style (great forum btw.. everyone is real nice and helpful) I'm not sure what style I'll aim for first (I'm sure I'll try a bunch) but my first impression was that the best result would be a sprite where the beads weren't melted at all. So what I did was flip the image horizontally in ms paint, create and iron the sprite, then flipped it over with the iron side down. It did curve like I've heard many warn but after a day under a book it was fine. Is that a common or even good technique for larger stuff? I'm not sure I could deal with every bead not melted perfectly..... seriously annoying perfectionism here people haha.

And I know it's been answered a million times but why not. What paper is the best to use? I'm hearing parchment or nongrease paper is the best.

THANKS!
