What kind of ironing paper do you guys use? I know you are "supposed" to use the perler/hama ironing paper that they sell, but a friend of mine said you can also use something called parchment paper. I think parchment paper comes in those long rectangular prism rolls like wax paper and aluminum foil, and you can find it at Walmart/Meijers (I live in Midwest USA), or so my friend says.

What's the most cost effective kind of paper to use (while still maintaining finished product quality and ease of use)?

Rolls of parchment paper are about $2 or $3 for a huge roll, and the paper's reusable, and it mostly gives finished sprites a nice matte finish. I'm a fan.

Just to make doubly sure, by parchment paper, you mean like this? http://www.alcoa.com/reynoldskitchens/parchment_paper/en/home.asp
Just wanna make sure I'm getting the right stuff. Also it's reusable? How much better could it get?

Parchment paper is better then the paper that the beads come with. THe paper that comes with the beads is folded & creased. I wind up ironing the creases into my beads if I use theirs.

Parchment paper, you can use one great big piece when making a giant sprite, too. Size isn't really an issue. You can cut it small if you need something small.

And you can use it a couple of times.

Yeah, the big rectangle sheets that they sell are folded and have a tendency to leave a creased impression in your freshly mented project... take a look at my skullman from my Megaman bead bosses 01 (you may need to zoom in or full screen if viewing from devianART account)

right across his legs is a horizontal gash... a crease that is... any rolled anti-stick paper works though, but I would highly recommend avoid using waxed paper, as it produces a glossy finish instead of the desired matte finish...

and never aluminum foil... or saran wrap...

nylons and cheese cloth are out then too... hmmm... maybe more...
