Im trying to find a supplier for the new Elmer's brand of meltable beads I found at walmart in crafts the other day.
The colors look to be the same except the brown in my bag and a very light green. It came with some clear boards and waxpaper too.
I dont have any pics of the package but its in walmart hanging by the perler stuff. Hope you all find these out there too!

UPDATE!
These beads by elmers are called officially FUZE BEADS.
They are now being stocked as regular items in all Wal*mart craft sections and contain
A darker blue
a pastel green
an odd brown
a darker yellow

Awesome! I'm so excited to hear about these new colors, I desperately need new shades of brown and green to work with.

Do you happen to have a picture of the package itself, so I know what to look for?

Has anyone tried these with Perler or Hama? Are they compatible?

I have tried them and yes they work with perler. Slightly wider hole on some of these beads than perler beads but its not really an issue when they iron up. So far I have only found multi color kits and no bags or buckets of colors in Fuze Beads. I still cant find an image yet.
Also they come with clear pegboards.

I finally saw these with my own eyes in two of our local Walmarts. They were in the Crafts section, with the Perler stuff and regular beads.

The only product they had was this small tub with mixed beads in several bags, some pegboards, and ironing paper. The tub was clear with a bright orange lid. Price was just under $9. It is the same size and style as the Perler tub kits.

Unfortunately, the only colors they had were translucent neon glitter. >_< But I want greens and browns, dammit!

I can confirm that the holes on the Elmer's tend to be noticeably larger, but they are probably still interchangeable with Perler.

The tubs I saw were labeled FUZEART.

I've looked everywhere, including the Walmart and Elmer's websites, and cannot find them online. It's as if they don't exist, but I've seen them myself, they absolutely do.

I've been waiting for these to show up at the local Wally World, but nothing yet. I've seen plenty of Perler stuff, as usual.

Thing is, I hate going into Wal-Mart anyway, let alone give them any of my money. Confused

I'll check next time I'm in the vicinity of one.

Any news on how they work with Perler/Hama yet?

When I saw these, I thought of the forum and snapped a few photos with my phone's camera. The image quality isn't that great. The beads appear to have a greater inner and outer diameter than Perler beads. The Elmer beads appear to be thinner, too. Some of the beads appear to be slightly translucent. The packs include a square pegboard. I was unable to determine if the boards are interlocking.

I just purchased a ton of the Elmer's beads, and I wanted to share my impressions. I found these at a Super Wal-Mart.

First, the colors (I didn't bother with the glitter translucents). I got one of the tubs (Grab N'Go) and one each of the blister packs crazyotto took photos of above (Rally Racers, Pretty Pets, Fantasy Friends, Best Buddies). I sorted all the colors into a divided bead tray.

Black [Grab N'Go tub, Rally Racers, Pretty Pets]
No appreciable difference from Perler/Hama.

White [Grab N'Go tub, Fantasy Friends, Best Buddies, Rally Racers]
No appreciable difference from Perler/Hama.

Red [Grab N'Go tub, Fantasy Friends, Best Buddies, Rally Racers]
A teeny bit darker than Perler Red, a teeny bit lighter than Hama Dark Red. Not suitable for shading with other reds.

Orange [Grab N'Go tub]
Brighter than Perler Orange. Perhaps shadeable with other oranges.

Yellow [Grab N'Go tub, Rally Racers, Best Buddies, Fantasy Friends, Pretty Pets]
Lighter than Perler Yellow, less saturated. Not suitable for shading.

Pink [Grab N'Go tub, Best Buddies, Pretty Pets]
Most easily described as a less saturated Hama Pastel Pink. Not suitable for shading with other pinks.

Dark Green [Fantasy Friends, Rally Racers]
Lighter than Perler Dark Green. May be suitable for shading with other greens.

Lime Green [Grab N'Go tub, Best Buddies]
Several shades lighter than Perler Kiwi Green, very shadeable.

Seafoam Green [Pretty Pets]
Slightly lighter and blue-er than Perler Pastel Green. If Perler Toothpaste was green-ish rather than teal-ish, it would be about this color. Pretty bright. I could see shading possibilities with this one.

Pastel Blue [Grab N'Go tub, Best Budies]
Brighter than Perler and Hama Pastel Blues, might possible be shadeable.

Light Blue [Pretty Pets]
Near exact match with Perler Light Blue.

Dark Blue [Rally Racers]
Darker than Perler Neon Blue, more saturated than Perler Dark Blue, a shade lighter than Hama Blue. Probably shadeable.

Purple [Fantasy Friends]
Imagine Hama transparent purple were not transparent. It could be shadeable with Perler Purple.

Brown [Pretty Pets]
Brighter, more saturated than Perler Light Brown, pretty close to Hama Light Brown but somehow a very ugly color. Probably shadeable with the darker browns.

Beige [Fantasy Friends]
Brighter than Perler Tan and Hama Beige, shadeable with both. Very ugly color on its own.

---

The most important question is, are they actually interchangeable with Perler and Hama? I can't venture a verdict, as I haven't got the time to construct something yet. Judging them side by side with Perler and Hama, the Elmer's are indeed slightly larger than Perler (less than a millimeter) and are thinner. But the difference is no more drastic than that between Hama and Perler, and I use Hama and Perler together with no issues, so I'm quite willing to give it a shot.

Another important thing to mention is the quality -- rather, lack of -- in the Elmer's beads. There's a lot more variation in height and shape in the Elmer's beads, and due to their thinness they seem to tend to warp into ovals. Compared to the solidity and regularity of Perler beads, they seem kind of shoddy. I wonder how they'll melt.

I'd certainly love it if the Elmer's turn out good, because those Beige, Purple, blues, and greens have the potential to fill some gaping holes in the Perler and Hama palettes.

That insight is truly appreciated. Now, just to find the damn things.

Seriously...that's some hardcore research - if only Elmer's sold the damn things individually...
