Out of curiosity (and the sense that addiction loves company), what kind of a bead supply do you keep handy? I've found myself ordering/re-ordering stuff about once every month so far, in a five-month history of HOLY SHIT BEADS addiction (what my boyfriend has fondly nicknamed the hobby- he claims to be displeased with the new bead overlords, but loves it when I make him stuff because he's way more of a video game nerd than I am).

Anyway, once my latest order gets here, I'll have something like 12k black, and four of those bead-storage containers full of different Perler and Hama shades, plus a mini-container full of shades of grey, and many partially-filled Ziploc bags of refills. So....maybe something like 60k, total?

Yes, I am a sad, sad person who gets bored and insomniatic during semester break, and takes pictures of the supplies of her obsessive craft hobby. >.> Go ahead, laugh. IT COULD HAPPEN TO YOU.

I've got about 8 of those plastic organizers. All full.

Plus, I've got one Perler bucket filled with white, two unsorted Perler mix buckets, one Hama mix jar, and one Creative Kids mix jar.

I just had a WTFBBQ moment when I saw your storage for the black beads, as I use the exact same container for mine (which is full).

I've only gotten one shipment of beads so far (out of three) so I have like 20k or so. Hopefully by the end of the week (if the snail mail gets here in time), I'll have about ~90k or so. Obsessive? Nah, just passionate xD

Now the question is where am I gonna have room for all these in a college dorm o.o

I dunno how many beads, exactly...right now, I have about 30 bags unopened...and a lot of those containers full of em. I usually spend between 60 and 120 dollars at a time at koolstuff4kids.com, if that gives you any idea. I like to be prepared, is all. If I had to guess, around 100k.

You can order them through KoolStuff4Kids.
Those same multi-spaced boxes are on sale at like Jo-Ann Fabrics & used to be sold at he Rag Shoppe before they closed down. Craft stores.

Does Norway *have* Joann's?

Though I have seen those craft organizers pretty much anywhere that sells beads and crafts- Walmart, Michael's, Hobby Lobby, etc. It'd be really weird if they didn't have something equivalent where you are.

I have four craft boxes full of beads plus about 20 packs of 1000 pieces and a new 11,000 piece bucket.

I have to start doing new projects that use the beads that I have in large amounts since I have no room in my boxes for them.

Okay, so I know this is supposed to be one of those one post forums, but I just wanted to express my frustration, which will lead into a topic-related fact.

I hardly ever use yellow, usually I use cheddar, but somehow, even after buying two bags with my last order from koolstuff4kids.com, I managed to run out working on my Samus Ship from Super Metroid. ARGH. Worst part is, I work on my bed...not wanting to move the giant sprite, I may just sleep on the couch tonight, lol.

Anyways, here's a picture that shows the nearly finished Samus Ship in its glory AND my bead quantity...if anyone feels like taking the time to count them, let me know how many I have, lol.

Oh yeah, and if you see at the top-left corner, a corner of a red box that says 12" CANTI LIMITED EDITION that is indeed the designer vinyl based on Canti the blue/red robot from FLCL. If you're an anime fan and have watched fooly cooly then you'll appreciate the fact that I have THREE of those red ones (limited to 400 pcs) and one blue (limited to 800). Long story there tho...

I've gotten more since then, but I estimate I have around 50,000 beads. I do have one of those plastic divided containers, but I only use it for sorting mixes, I much prefer little baggies. It's easy to toss them into a box and stow it away anywhere.

I've never been to Norway so I don't know what all you have over there. I got my containers at a supermarket. I'm sure you could find ones like them at any hobby shop, corner store, supermart, grocery store or whatever. I'm not sure what companies put out these types of containers exactly, but in America there is the major brand, GLAD, and then there are a ton of knock-offs, which I got. The big ones are GLAD. I use them, as you can see, for my main colors: black, red and white.

HAY GUYS WHATS GOIN' ON OVER HERE IN THIS THREAD

Assorted bags - I just kinda put them on the floor haphazardly for this picture. A lot of you tried to make them look all arranged cool and I'm just like "Yeah, whatever."

MAH BUKKITS ;.;

How I usually keep them arranged - in big ol' plastic organizers.
I like to put stickers on the outside of my organizers.

Haha, sorry about the subject title, I couldn't resist.

Anyways, I just got a new shipment in...I haven't bothered counting, it's def 140k+ beads.

Okay, so among the lot, I ordered two bags of 1,000 Kiwi-Lime Green.
Accordning to multiple sources, you can only get Lime Green in mixes, but check this out:

I don't know how well you can tell from the picture, but that's two slightly different shades.
I think Perler DOES sell Lime Green in single bags...by accident!

Interesting, no?

- DO

You....have an entire bag of pain-in-my-ass-to-find green. That you can only, apparently, get by accident.

WHY, CRUEL GODS!?

(also, just for that, you win the wang contest)
