So this Christmas I wanted to make all my friends 5 or so sprites. I've already started and I'm learning all kinds of things about sprite art. Mainly how frickin' hard it can be! (and keeping the whole thing secret from 6 people)

Now, one request I got was for Issac from Golden Sun GBA. It looked simple enough, then I got looking at the pixels... good golly! So many colors! I don't know if this community frowns on this sorta stuff or not, but is anyone really great at re-coloring things and would like to take this on this for me?

Looks deceivingly easy, but a mess of pixels awaits. Maybe a pattern already exists out there? I tried Perlerpal, but it went real wild with color choices.

I'd be uber grateful if anyone is game, I just lack that artistic vibe.

I know the pain of what you're going through. Smile

I'm not really good at re-coloring sprites..but I know what I CAN do to help.

I know you said PerlerPal gave you a crazy mix of colors..and that's because the palette is way off for some reason. I'll take the RGB values off one of the pictures someone made, turn it into a palette, and then convert it to hex values so you have a dead on accurate palette to use in PerlerPal.

It'll take a while, but I'm unemployed, so whatever!

Also, to anyone reading this..I think there's a palette up there called "Perler_Real" or something similar..I made it. Give it a shot!

You'd not only be my hero, but many others who use PerlerPal. Good luck, friend!

I would say use that awesome bead sheet posted in the purple variant thread. It has TONS of colors with the RGB values right on it (unless that's the one you're talking about...).

Stinlin, that's the exact picture I'm talking about. Smile

It'll be 100 colors, but I'm more than willing to undertake the task. It'll not only help this great community, but it'll help me, too!

I'll let you guys know when it's all set up.

Well, that was tedious, but it's done. Smile

Look for a palette on PerlerPal entitled "Full".

I hope it helps!

While it didn't exactly help for Issac, I could see this being a really good guide to base re-colors on. I threw on some sprites to see what it could handle and some of them were really dead on. Thanks for all your hard work, I hope to be able to take advantage of it one day.

You win some, you lose some!

Some sprites just don't have colors you can really replicate that well. If all else fails, you could change around the colors you don't have and just say Isaac is wearing a different outfit. Smile

But yeah, I hope it helps for future stuff. It was acting funky for me when I tried it, but that coulda just been my computer. Thanks for the psuedo cookie.
