So I'm starting a new project that has nothing to do with beads but everything to do with video games.

I won't tell you what it is until I'm done, but I will tell you that you should go ahead and get excited.

Very Happy

Okay, it won't be anything nearly as exciting as you do, Doc, but I'm stoked about it.

It's a present for my boyfriend for his birthday which is on the 25th, so here's to hoping you guys can wait that long. I would tell you what it is and post pictures of the process, but I'm kind of a paranoid person. He's not on the forum, but he knows about it, so I don't want to risk him looking at this and ruining the surprise.

I was thinking about taking a picture hint sometime soon. I'll just have to get off my lazy bum and do it.

Never fear! A picture hint is coming pre-25th. I don't imagine it will help you figure it out at all, but it should make for a lovely abstract photo.

Aww man! Everyone whose work I adore is getting too interested in this. I don't want you guys to get your hopes up and be disappointed. *The pressure is on.* Trust me, it's nothing as exciting as you guys do. You guys are pro, and I'm most certainly still in the No0b category. I'm just excited about it because I think my boyfriend will like it a lot.

I guess here's a hint sort of: it's something that will be practical for him but wouldn't even make since for some people. That's why I think he'll be excited about it.

=P Keep the wonder rolling, but don't hate me when you're like "aw man that was it..."

Damn...I can't make anything from that hint either. Maybe you can send a private message to any who inquire...that way, we can know what's up, and your bf will be none the wiser.

Ah hem...

It's interesting trying to update this thing without saying too much.

Let's just say this project consists of, eh, I would say two phases. We'll call the first one the preparatory phase and the last is the finalizing phase. I am approximately 3/10 of the way through the preparatory phase. I'm HOPING the finalizing stage won't take nearly as long as this one is taking. I've been working on 1/10 of this thing for about... 5 hours today (Hoorah for just finishing that). The other 2/10 took about 3 hours collectively if you don't count the mistake that took another hour to correct. Bleck!

So, yea, hopefully I can get a lot more done next week even though I'll be in school at the same time. 11 days and counting, and I'm a little nervous about the whole thing.

I didn't realize how much time I was going to be investing into this. Thank goodness for Brand New & Blink-182 for being my faithful companions through all of the sitting to work and fighting with my cat to leave my project alone. (She likes the string. *gasp!* Did I say string???? Wink )

I've lost quite a bit of string projects and bead projects [since beads roll] to my cats. Darn their natures to play with things that move. >.< Laughing

Lawl! Oh yes, cute bead & string necklaces that take 5 hours to make. I'm either damn good or quite slow.

& yes, indeed, my cat loves to wreck things. Unfortunately, it's so hard to be mad at her because she's such a cutie!

Whenever I leave my bead works I have to put something over my works so the cat's won't demolish it too. I think it's in their make up to demolish everything in sight. Atleast mine are.

I have three cats, it's almost impossible to have anything without one of them getting to it first. But they are too cute to be mad at, so I just start over, and they start to hug you and purr, and you cannot be mad at them for more than five minutes. So yes, covering the sprites are a good idea, but I am sure they can still find a way to get to my stuff >_> I swear they all join up against me sometimes. Rolling Eyes

I have a piece of an old desk that I put over it. So instead of messing with it, they just lay on the desk piece. So thank goodness for that.

I could not have said it any better...Anything that moves, is a possibly kitty toy, whether you want it to be or not.

One of my cats knocked a bucket of 12,000 beads over once. That sucked. They've also killed a few 1-up mushrooms, but those are no big deal, and on several occasions Dude has knocked over a few mason jars full of beads. He also likes to walk on the table while I'm making things. Miroku almost met the end thanks to that cat.
