Hello,
Yes I'm new to hama and this site. I promise I will post some of my first attempts but I warn you now they aren't too good. I'm 22 and originally from Wales. I think it's all the pretty colours that attract me to hama. I'm not a fan of pokemon so I just about recognise some of the posts but I have made pacman and several ghosts.
My latest attempt at a mario mushroom was awful, I managed to melt the peg board flat in my excitment. So another trip to Hobby craft looms.
Hope to chat to you all soon and share tips!

Pokemon has Nothing do do with it. I See alot of Varieties of Bead Sprites here. However the Most Common are Pokemon, Mario, And Sonic, But you can do whatever you want. Heck, Make something 3D, Try to Recreate a Photo. Do whatever you want. But start small at first. Once you get better then you can try to do other bigger things. Also, Since you like color, Do really colorful things. I'd Mention some, But they is all Pokemon related... ._. Ummm... BTW, The Term is Newb. N00b means annoying stupid. I dun think you are that....

Two things..

Everything you see can, essentially, be broken down into pixels. That in mind, like Nintendo 6444 said, you can sprite anything. Try doing the emotes on the site if you want, or a cartoon character...No rules or bounds except your mind when it comes to sprite-ing.

My second question is entirely unrelated: is English the primary language of Wales? I (for no educational reason whatsoever) thought Sweedish was. Embarassed

I bought a massive tube of ikea's own beads from Cardif and they are a little just as good and very cheap! Only problem is they are all neon colours (all they had left). But check out ikea in the kids craft section.

Indeed. I picked up a small tub of these at the local IKEA, but have yet to use them. They compare well visually.

Oh man! I may have to make a trip to IKEA! This is a store wide thing, right? Like, it's not just a few random stores? Cuz if that's the case, I have no plans for Saturday...And with my girlfriend working, it seems like a good weekend for beading!

How is the color selection in that tube?

Yeah I think it's a nation wide thing it's called klappar plocka I think it's only £3.99. Check their website for details. One problem I have with them is they are nearly all transparent or translucent...which is semi see through????
But they are great for messing about with and I don't begrudge sharing beads with my kid cousin if they are cheap!

You get like 3 different types of blue which was weird and the rest is neon pink and yellow. It's not exactly picasso colouring but it's cheap and you never know when you might need neon green! Maybe we could do an 80's theme spriting?

Check their website for stock at your local ikea. Search for klappar plocka. If you don't like them I'm sure you'll buy an octopus massager, brightly coloured dressing gown with umbrella to match or steal hundreds of wooden pencils and paper measuring tapes. Eitha way it's worth the trip!

As for SWEDISH!!!! being our first language *slap*!
Most people in the south speak english first but in the north it's mainly welsh. No-one lives in the middle it's all sheep, daffodils and green hills! LOL
But I think all the train stations announce in welsh first

My bad on the Swedish. Haha – I guess I just figured two e’s because of the pronunciation. Interesting fact about the language and whatnot, though. Thanks!

And those beads…I’ll give it a shot. I’ll probably call first, though. It is a small hike (20-30 minutes?), but more than likely worth it. I did just order 91 different colors via gmrcdbaker13@bellsouth.net for a great price, so I don’t know how badly I need it. But if it’s cheap, the unique colors may come in hand for a piece that requires 14 shades of some color that you only seem to have 12 of. Smile

Hiya! I get most of my beads from "BeadMerrily.co.uk". they do all the colors and the service is pretty good. And the shipping is a lot cheaper than from the US, although they don't do Perlers... ;)
Hope this helps. T Smile
