Hi all, I am fairly new to sprite-beading (is this what it's called?). I have made a 1-up mushroom, Fighter, Thief, Red Mage, Black Mage, and White Mage (nobody likes Black Belt) from the original Final Fantasy and I am preparing to do an imp tomorrow.

I really like making bead art and think of it as a great hobby. It may even one day make me popular or rich...or both! Anyhow, I just wanted to introduce myself. I will have access to a digital camera tomorrow as well, so I can start posting my work on the forum.

I just have two questions that have probably already been addressed by members before me:

1. Where does everyone get the nice true "red" color that almost every sprite requires? I am using the 22,000 bead tub of mixed colors and the only red in there is kind of washed. There is a dark pink that almost looks like the same color, but I know that can't be it either. Please help, this is my biggest concern.

2. How do the experts get their projects to stay flat and not curl up? It isn't bad, but it's not perfectly flat like I would like.

Well, thanks for reading my introduction and hopefully answering my questions. Look for me...great things are coming. I play classic games all the time and have even been to professional Street Fighter tournaments, so it's safe to say gaming is my life. I have a nose for sniffing out those obscure and overlooked sprites.

I guess this board isn't as friendly as I thought...

Well, I hope everyone is having a good time making their bead projects. Good luck to you all and may your sprites all lay flat.
