I just came across this site in search of something, and thought that I could introduce myself.

I found those Pyssla beads in IKEA a few weeks ago, a thought that they would be great for making real-world objects out of pixel graphics. I didn't know there were other people doing the same. ;-)

I use this palette for converting images with Gimp to Pyssla:

Code:
GIMP Palette
Name: Pyssla
Columns: 2
#
  0   0   0   Unbenannt
 73  40   2   Unbenannt
217  31   0   Unbenannt
255 123   0   Unbenannt
  0 110 193   Unbenannt
162 140 235   Unbenannt
  0 110   0   Unbenannt
252 222   0   Unbenannt
245 117 252   Unbenannt
255 255 255   Unbenannt

My avatar is an image of me, converted with this palette.

But because the graphics look quite horrible and are much to large with Pyssla beads' 10 colours, I just ordered 30 bags of Hama mini beads (Everything that is neither neon, nor flour, nor transparent, nor pastel pink which seems to be the same as light red). With those, I'm going to make a new palette (scanning the beads for getting perfect colour matches) and I'll also try to convert an old plotter into an automated mini beads placing machine. I'll keep you posted. ;-)

See you,

Simon

Hello Simon! I am also from Germany, only I come from Wetzlar in Hessen Smile

I will write in german so others can read, otherwise I think it would be inpolite.

So my question to you is, where do you buy the standard beads that people use for the gamesprites, can you give me a hint where I can get all that I need?

Ordering from the US would be a little to expensive I presume and it would also take a wihle Smile

SO!

If there are more people from Germany:

Where can we get good beadstuff? ^^'

Would be great if I could get some help here ;)

Thanks

Rognar "Conrad" Rockbeard

Welcome. I have been thinking about ordering some Hama beads myself. Nobody said "welcome" or "glad to see a new face" for mewhen I joined, so apparently you are very fortunate. Anyway, I am one to turn the other cheek so, "Welcome", and I'm glad to see a new spriter here.
