Some very nice people were kind enough to give me one of these. i think they usually hang these up in shops, anyways its extreamly useful and im sure it has every colour going on it. the only noticeable colour i noticed on this thats missing above was 60, which is orge/winnie the pooh yellow.

I just received the second color chart with the actual beads on it today and wow, I must say is it way more useful then the paper one. This one lets you compare side by side what the color is like with the perler beads to know which ones are different enough to be worth ordering.

Awesome, so how does one go about obtaining one of these actual-bead charts? Who do I bother, and will they send me one if I ask nicely?

I went to the Perlerand Hama websites, found e-mail addresses, and just asked them "How can I get a color chart?". Got quick replies back asking for my address, and within a week I had a catalog from Perler, and the white bead chart from Hama. It was free and very easy.

Good deal with the digital chart. I plan on making one that uses Pantone colors. I'll save it as a PDF file so anyone can download it and print it out for refernece. Why, you ask?

All computer monitors display different tint, contrast and brightness. This will make the same color appear differently on all monitors, thus creating slight discrepencies between users. In 1963, Lawrence Herbert created a sytem that used number codes for each color. This code, recognized by all computers and printers, would help retain consistancy during printing. This way, I can find the color match with a bead, create the color by number (not sight), send you a file containing the color, and when you print it out it will match my original color.

This may be too much, but I'm waiting for my beads and I'm bored...
What I'll do is use a pantone color chart (which is a physical, printed chart, not a digital one) and match up to each shade of Perler/Hama bead. Then I'll create a chart that contains swatches for each color bead, with Pantone Code and Perler/Hama name. I will arrange them by color and shade in Adobe Illustrator, then save it as a PDF file, which anyone can download, print out, and use for reference.

Too much...I know...so bored...

Oh, my God guys... Thank you sooooo much... I now know where the missing links fit in... flesh #26 looks a little pink... but who cares we know it's #26...

Desire to know what #58 and #59 are though... probably glow purple, and glow yellow/orange

And holy crap, new colors silver and bronze... can't wait... *faints*

What's with the names of Hama colors?!

I've seen two names listed for several colors of Hama beads:

08 blue OR dark blue
09 light blue OR blue
12 brown OR dark brown
20 reddish brown OR brown
21 light brown OR coffee brown
29 claret OR cerise pink
31 turquoise OR pale blue
32 fuchsia OR neon pink
33 cerise pink OR bright pink
45 pastel purple OR pastel mauve
48 pastel pink OR pastel light mauve

55, 56, and 57 are termed either glow in the dark OR night glow

60 teddybear brown OR winnie the pooh yellow

Very confusing, especially when trying to order beads or communicate with others. Are the first color names listed above the "old" names and the second names listed above the "new" names or vice versa.

Any insight into this issue will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Rose

I'm going to go with the first being the old names. There are new colors each year, so I'm guessing that names are clarified as to better describe the color and so it's not confused with others.

I agree with you, rgcainmd. Why change the names of the colors?

I just use the numbers when ordering. Each of my bead-tubs has a number so I know what I'm runnung out of..

but yeah.... you say tomayto.. i say tomahto... you say teddybear, i say winnie-the-pooh....

...but i know it's 207-60 Laughing

Did you just drop an email to the address on the hama site (basically the denmarkian address) for the chart? I'm thinking this might good for my large projects as it means I'll be able to do a comparison at home instead of having to head out to a shop and stand looking like a <insert> matching colours up when I know I'm not buying them from that shop Very Happy

Yes, I sent an e-mail to the info@hama.dk address. Specifically, they sent me the chart with actual beads on it, a reference paper listing the official names, and the Inspiration 11 book, which has an additional color chart in a fold out on the very last page.

Speaking of colors, does somebody have a defined Hama Palette for GB Classic sprites?

Just normal B&W would be a great help, but if someone knows how to achieve the desired "Brick GB Green Screen" that would be awesome Very Happy

PS: I hate to make my first post a petition, but I'm looking for ideas for some new sprites and I don't have pics of my old works...

From the look of it, your palette would be the following:

Black and White:
Perler Black
Perler Dark Grey
Perler Grey
Perler White

Green:
Hama Army Man Green
Perler Parrot Green
Perler Light Green
Perler White
