Anything popular ever...not that I try and avoid popular games I just never get around to playing them.

On the plus side, I've played every game you've never heard of though.

Good for you on the Final Fantasy bit, I've always thought those games to be wayyyy over hyped.

Meh, don't worry about the flames...I never really liked the FF games either. FFIII (or FFVI if you're in Japan) was the best out of the lot, but I can agree with most of the JRPGs, I can appreciate some grinding but there are some that is just a weary burden to do so....

..I do like some though.

It's hard to agree when so many people love these games. FFIX is in my top 10 games I've ever played. FF series is just one of those where you have to find the number perfect for you Razz

Grinding isn't usually necessary if you play the game right!! Wink
I jest. My boyfriend and I had to grind (haha) for ridiculous amounts of time before the last boss fight of IV.

I haven't played past FFVI (which, I agree, is the best by far). I'm not all that into the new-gen games that focus a lot on graphics. FFI-VI are pretty great though... with the exception of maybe II and V for some (but I kind of found reasons to like those).

To each his own. The hype is indeed obnoxious, but I think it's well earned.

Wow, that is prehaps the most consice statement a Final Fantasy fan has ever made to me. Most of the time they are yelling in disbelief that I don't really like the series. Rock on Crausse.

(And somehow, most have never even played FFIII)

Haha, that must be the most awesome boss fight ever.

I've played FFVII(and honestly found it hard to know what to do in some places due to the worst graphics I've ever seen) and thought it was alright until the fanboy/girl-ism drove it so far into the ground that it popped back out in Japan again. Then I got halfway through FFVIII and quit, never to play another FF again.

HAHAHA! Yea, though I hate to admit it, I totally agree with Crausse.

I never finished FFII. I left it on an alright note. I think I was in the snow in the north somewhere playing some kind of memory game... it was fun!

As for FFIII (I'm assuming you mean for the DS) I freakin love that game!!! There's a chance that one of the main reasons was because of how cute the graphics were (though I realize this almost contradicts what I just said about not being too infatuated with the new-age graphics... these were just too cute for me not to adore them), but I really think I just genuinely enjoyed the game. OH! Minus the fact that you couldn't buy phoenix downs... that sucked @$$!

Oh, um, no..not for the DS. For the SNES. The one for the DS is the Japanese FFIII and came out much later (obviously). The one for the SNES is the Japanese FFVI, but when it was released over here it was called FFIII because we had only gotten two other Final Fantasies before that one.

Yea.. I knew that much. My assumption was based on:
A) I always call it FFVI just because that's what it really is.
B) You didn't finish it.
C) A lot of people don't like the DS one, so I figured that's why you didn't finish. :X

*assumptions not my friend*

You didn't finish FFVI?!?!?!?! :O
I encourage you to do so even though you probably won't.
That game makes me giddy.

Oh, sorry for the confusion. I should finish it, I really did enjoy it...

I've heard many many good things about Earthbound, but unless its on the virtual console I doubt I'll be able to find it anywhere.

Hey, you're in luck! I posted a link to the ROM on my blog, but I'll be nice and put it here too:)

You Have to play FFIV. its the best one. on a side note PRS you should try FFIX. it went back to the roots a bit. Vivi is just as good as Mog, and this coming from someone loves moggles thats means a lot. although FFVII is the only PS1 era Final Fantasy i've beaten.

I agree with Malice. FFIX rocks and Vivi is a very lovable character for all the ladies Smile

I've been "leveling up" for 6 months in FFIV...I really need to pick up that controller again, only it's been so long, I don't remember who's in my party anymore.

... better ... than ... MOG?!?!?!
*pretends she did not hear that*
Vivi isn't nearly as cute as Mog!!

I do want to play the rest of the FF games (skip XI) though. I think I'll play the tactics games first, and then move on to VII-X. I trust your judgment, so I'll definitely get to them. Very Happy

don't get me wrong Mog is still better but Vivi is the closest they've ever come to his awesomeness. now Cat Sith on the other hand is the spawn of all that is unholy and wrong.
