My name is Hilde and I`m from Norway.

I really need help Razz

I`ve been reading a lot about beading big pictures and I want to make some small pictures with disney-characters. I looked at a lot of pictures and i know that people zoom in a picture in a programme on their computer.
I thought that this is a piece of cake so i bought 10 000 bead and 4 square boards. As i sat down to start all this i just couldn`t understand a thing.
How do i do this? what programme do i need?
I really need help. I have no idea what i`m doing Laughing

Sorry if my english is bad!

Edit: i found a guide but i don`t understand the thing with the grid.
I have no idea what to do and i`ll probably give up this whole project before i go crazy Shocked

Hi welcome to the forum.

I think most people here use Photoshop for beading. There is a site where you can put a picture in it and you see what beads you need to use and the picture is enhanced. I'm sorry but i don have the link atm just browse this forum a bit its somewhere here.

If you can't afford photoshop you could try and just use Microsoft paint or use the gimp (www.gimp.org) just load in you picture and blow it up with the zoom funtion in either program. I would say go for smaller ones to start with to get an idea of the colors. Later on you can go for a bigger one and recolor it before you make it (it sometimes happens that it's ugly when you use certain colors and if you beaded 1000 of beads already then you need to break it down again for nothing).

I hope this helps a bit.

Thanx for the advice.

I`ve started on a mario-mushroom now.
I`m not satisfied with anything because i have already done a lot of mistakes Razz

But i have no idea how to make them smaller or bigger.
I blow the picture up to 800% in mspaint but i feel the picture is too big.
I know i may be stupid now but i`ve never done this before Razz

I want to make very small things too.
Can i just use half of the beads or is it another way to do it?

It's a bit of trail and error at first, you need to find the best way for yourself how you do it, some people love to use paint others hate it for beads sprites. It's best if you FIT the picture to your screen if you have a small one. Blow it up that you see the whole image but also can see it pixel per pixel. Then start off with only one color and do every bead in the same color most of the time i begin with the surrounding color. Then go for another color and so on.

I don't know what you mean by using half beads?
If you mean cut them in halft then you could not iron them anymore but i'm sure you do not meant that.

Good luck.
