I have finally decided to dive into the world of bead sprites. Very Happy I am going to order around 30 colors of Perler beads. I am primarily going to focus on classic NES characters. My question for all the bead masters out there is this:

What colors do you use the most of when it comes to 8-bit bead sprites?

In other words, what colors should I order more of?

I'm thinking both black and white will be used a lot. Any other colors I should double up on?

Black, White, Gray, and Dark Gray (all of which are perler colors) are the prime choices of what you will probably use the most of. I personally have giant separate tubs for each one of those colors and usually buy them each in bulk like 20,000 of each at a time. Embarassed Right under that I have a ton Army Green, Burgundy, and Dark Red (all of which are Hama colors). Each one of those are very very good shaders for projects involving green and red (which are used in a lot of old game I.E. mario). Honestly your best pallete is going to consist of Perler and Hama beads so look into each of those companies and see what tickles your fancy. Ebay is the best place (and price) to buy all your color needs and I would suggest buying them from callahan13's Ebay store since she carries EVERYTHING!!!! Smile Have fun!

Thanks for the reply! I will order more of the colors you suggested. And callahan13's ebay store is actually where I was going to buy them. Wink
