Hey all, I decided to start a topic about blogs, sites, etc, about bead sprites. I'll start out by throwing my blog's URL in here:

Doctor Octoroc's Blog

But the main reason is I found a few other blogs, real shady stuff...I'll let it speak for itself.

Shady Bead Sprite Scam?

What do you think?

SUPER SHADY.

Is there a way you can report this to Blogspot and have them check into it? At least, hopefully, you can get the site with your pictures on it removed.

Thanks for letting us all know about this- there's gotta be something that can be done to disable the fuckers.

Yeah, I'm not sure. I checked into reporting blogs, but the more I followed the options to contact blogspot about the issue, the less relavant the pre-written categories got. I also got tired of clicking them, since i wrote the whole blog before then. Maybe if we can get a group of us from the forum to write, they'll be more likely to do something about it.

Unfortunately, it seems that unless they infringe on a blog you have hosted on blogspot, they don't care much about the issue.

I wonder how many of the other pictures were taken from their rightful owners. The other file names all had + copy after them as well, which suggests that they were, much like my image, simply dragged into Photoshop, given a border, and saved as a copy without changing the file name. The only difference is, the other files had no written names, just strings of numbers, the way that Flickr! and Photobucket names uploaded files.

Well, as long as its legal to sell stuff on blogspot I don't know that you're going to get too much attention bringing it up. Unfortunately the internet is full of people who steal others ideas and try to scam the person they are selling to.

Have you checked into the payment services they have listed? I think I may have heard of I Banking, but there are so many 'I' companies these days its possible I'm just confused. Personally, I'm suspicious about any 'store' that doesn't have Paypal as a payment option, or at least they're own secure setup.

It seems all that can be done now is a bit more research and try to contact a web master directly.

Also, you can try sending her an email yourself and at least ask her to take her own image of the iPod charms.

<insert>
I just don't understand some people....although I've had it happen to me (not on blogger but flickr and ebay and the right wee threat works a charm Very Happy)

Anyways, in relation to blogs and beads, this is mine:

http://projectanchor.blogspot.com/

It's been a project that I'm just about to complete tonight (and all I can say is thank <insert> for that!). It was started because some of my friends wanted to know what was happening with it without having t constantly ask me. Don't know what I'll do with it after I'm finished...probably use it as a archive of my heartache :p

Very nice, I like the clean look. I went a little flashier with mine, but it works both ways.

LOL. Actually I thought it was more appropriate. You know, lighthouse=sea=anchor....my mind works in mysterious ways :p

Hope fully when I get it mounted I'll get a picture of it and then once it's framed too Very Happy (and it's getting done professionally...glad I'm not paying for it)

Surely you can report him and have something done about it? The hosting company most likely has certain rules about it.

It's amazing the ammount of people that likes to copy & paste (or sell stuff like in this thread) in the internet.

It's something i'll never understand; how somebody can to agree with the congratulations for something isn't really from themselves?

I wrote a scene tutorial for the Xbox years ago that was a limited success (in a spanish free forum, of course), and many people asked me to post in their pages, and i agreed. Few months later, in the same forum I posted originally the tuto, i saw my tutorial with very little changes without pics and signed, of course, by another. Luckily it was easy to demostrate the source, but the question it's, how many things we've done there'll be signed by another in the internet?? Amusing...

Hey guys,

I'm not sure how many of you have your own blogs, especially ones about bead sprites - either way, Blog Catalog is an excellent way to meet other bloggers, and to boost page rank for your own blog, by linking to it from there and adding contacts / joining communities. If you get a chance, sign up to the site and find me.

Additionally, I created a group for Bead Sprites:

http://www.blogcatalog.com/group/bead-sprites

It would be nice to see some familiar faces on there Smile

(sorry to drag up old thread)

My blog doesn't focus only on bead sprites, though my sprites and other crafts from across the web make it to my page. Hope that counts! lol

gamergrrlz.blogspot.com

I'm going to check out that web community thing.
