So I'm new to this and started to look around for a source of beads. I checked out Walmart and they only had those tiny kits that are used to make specific shapes. Then I checked out everywhere I could think online, from eBay to Amazon to online stores. They either won't ship to Canada, or what $20 an order. I am going to go check out the Michaels here tomorrow but are there any other beaders from Canada that would like to reveal their sources?

I buy my beads from two places:

Michaels: they carry 11,000 buckets. A pain to sort, but a good way to start off and 8,000 buckets that come with pattern boards.

Ebay: You can buy large square boards to link together for bigger pieces. Best to buy 4 at first. Also you can buy individual colours in 400, 1000, 1500 or 6000 bags. I buy from the following people:

http://stores.ebay.ca/Moms-Quest

For magnets and keychain rings, go to the dollar store to buy them real cheap
Bead chains for keychains: 26 for $4.99 at Michaels.

Thanks for the info. I picked up the 11,000 bucket from Michaels and am about half way through sorting it after a week (I'm very determined). I will NEVER buy another bucket again, it seems like a majority of the beads are neons, glue in the darks, clears and sparkles. I also seem to have 5 of one color and a gazillion of others. I'll look at those sellers you posted and check them out.

Zellers does not sell them at all. Walmart sells them in tiny little bags that are not worth it. Small town so I don't have any local craft stores Sad

Wow, I was all set to post you a link to the store I've ordered the most stuff from, only to realize it doesn't ship outside the US. >.< lol fail

Would it be possible for you to try contacting the seller to ask about shipments to Canada? She might be able to work something out- I don't know the procedures for all that. http://stores.ebay.com/BakersKidsCraftsBooks-More
And she does have an awesome selection of Hama beads that are difficult to find elsewhere.

Of the two already posted, though, TurtleCrossing's not bad- I got my stuff relatively quickly, and shipping prices aren't gouge-worthy, though it wasn't the best, either. The whole "SUPPORT OUR TROOPS" thing being shoved down people's throats kind of bothered me, is all. No idea about the other one.

Good on you for sticking with the sorting- I can see where it'd be a total pain for people who don't get autistic-level focused on mundane tasks. When I got my bucket of 22,000, I developed a sorting system that made life a little easier: first, I sorted beads into their color groups (different shades of red, blue, green, neutral value, etc), and THEN tackled putting them into specific shades. It actually took only about a week.

So far the shipping has been the biggest challenge. I found a nice UK seller though that so far seems decent, she also offered to send me a Hama color chart in the mail! I got a hold of the Customer service for perler and they are going to be sending me a color chart as well. I will see if I can scan them once I get them.

Oh wow, that's exciting- I've been wondering how to get ahold of color charts!

Question is, are they comprehensive charts of all the colors available, or just the colors released as singles? pinkdramon mentioned the in-between shade of green that can't be found anywhere except a certain kind of bucket (which bucket, again? I am really, really low on that color), and...yeah. I'm thinking way too much about this.

I'm not sure what the chart is of, I guess I'll find out when I get them Smile I know what you mean about in between shades. After sorting my bucket of 11,000 I had a few of these colors that didn't match any other color I had and I can't find them referenced anywhere.
