Hey DoctorOctoroc, yeah Chris is a friend of mine too -- only not from myspace from deviantART... and there he is known as 8-bit-painter... sorry for the confusion or unintentional disrespect...

Here's his piece with screenname:

Ah, I see. Well, I figured his official name was 8-Bit Artist, so he'd rather go by that. To the best of my knowledge, he started the Deviant Art page before his popularity blew up. Then he acquired the Myspace alias and went on from there. Like I said, just clarifying for anyone who happened to look him up. I guess we both clarified a few things, lol.

Yeah... I talked with him afterwards and he said that the deviantART account was second and 8bit artist is taken by some guy who long ago did some post-it note art and 8bit painter was the first he thought up, a second choice spur of the moment type thing... but he prefers to be an artist, not a painter... plus it sounds more elegant... So I formally appologize for my mindless defense to what I thought at the time was prefered...

And Zeromus is finished *DUN*DUN*DUNNNNN* I just need to iron him and pray I don't mess up anything...

Alright, so here's another crazy update... I'm going to include everything except for my Materials I photographed, but if you want to see those they're on my dA page under Materials 01 and Materials 02 (which I still need to post #03, my hamas...) anyway without anymore ramble here are my new ones...

Zeromus (easytype) from FFIV
Mog, Draco, Brown Trooper, Merchant, and a ghost from FFVI
Locke, General Leo, Strago, Terra, and Cid also from FFVI
Glove (AoL), Link (Aol), Merchant (LoZ), which (LttP), Compass (LoZ), and Error (AoL)
Ogre, and Ankylo from FFI
Paladin Cecil, Cid, Golbez, Yang, and Tellah all slain from FFIV
Butz, Lenna, Faris, Galuf, and Cara as dragoons from FFV
Scholar, Magus, Black Belt, and Knight - job classes from the FFIII on the NES

So that concludes this update... I'm still working on getting a job to fund my new idea: backgrounds! I know they'll at least be more eye appealing with something other than drab cardboard behind them when I photograph them...

So until next time, cheers...

Oh boy! So THAT'S where Nuklear Power got the new and improved sprites for the characters! Thanks for that, I've been hunting for Black Mage's new look; the comic never posts his shoes!

Also, you have to win by now for sheer number of awesome FF sprite poses.

Sunshine: Yeah, all of 8bit theatre's updated sprites pretty much come from FFIII, the only exceptions are the fiends lich, kary, kraken and taimat which pinkdramon has made the first three (taimat hasn't been seen yet) -- and about the amount of final fantasy characters: I figure you make what you like and the charaters are small enough and recognizable enough to make all of them, and steadily I'm gong to so that...

and now that I look back at nuklear's site, the magus's shoes are never seen... funny...

Rubicant: Thanks Zeromus took awhile, but I'm glad he's finally done... ^^

wingedyoshi - Thanks for the compliments, and Master D is some of my friend's favorites too, yay...

Alright, new sprites from April 25th, there are a bunch and last time I tried to post them the page timed out... so without further adu, here they are:

Cocktrice, Sword Rat, and Imp/Goblin from FFIV
Singing Celes, Hair Down Terra, Draco Profile, Maduin Front, Chainsaw Edgar, Laughing Sabin, and Scared Kefka all from FFVI
Kain with helmet off on printed mountain from FFIV
Glass Joe
Mr. Dream
Bartz, Reina, Faris, Galuf, and Cara as Ninjas from FFV
Unei, Oldman, Desch, and Alus from FFIII
Paladin Cecil, Rosa, Edge, Kain, Adult Rydia, and Golbez, map sprite coasters from FFIV
Bartz, Reina, Faris, Galuf, and Cara as Samurais from FFV
Dark Knight Cecil, Young Rydia, Cid, Tellah, Edward, and FuSoYa, map sprite coasters from FFIV
Giant and Tyro from FFI
Fighter, Red Mage, White Mage, Black Mage, Thief, and Black Belt, map sprite coasters from FFI
Sara, Doga, Cid, and Aria from FFIII
Bulbasaur (diamond/pearl), Ivysaur (emerald), and Venasaur (diamond/pearl)

I have started new ones, and they are pretty sweet... My work prevents me from working on them as much as I'd like (obviously) but when I'm finished with my next one I'll post 'em all up... ^^;

Good stuff as usual.

I especially like the Mr. Dream sprite's expression. Perhaps he's surprised that someone would actually make a sprite of him instead of Mike Tyson? Razz

I'm glad someone else seems to be as in to the old Final Fantasy games as I am. I'm just waiting to be able to order new beads so I can add to my FFVI collection. Very Happy

Your sprites are all quite wonderful.

Zeromus has 4 forms (the first is Zemus, however).

Zemus

Zeromus

OH! From the advanced version. Like I said, i played the original and the DS version. That version of Zeromus is from the extra cave you go to after beating the game, not from the original story line. Gotcha. Kinda like how in Final Fantasy: dawn of souls, you can fight bosses from 3, 4, 5 and 6...nice extras, but not much merit to the original story.

Hey All... I'm back after a too long unexpected break... which was more like a lack of motivation, but anyway... now I'm into my groove and making bead-sprites again... I'm up to my ears in playing catch up, so things may be greatly delayed until I get 100% caught up...

Oobgarm - Yeah, at the time I was running low on brown and light brown beads, so I figured I would make some of the more whiter characters, and Mr dream stuck out... but the others are coming eventually, never you worry...

stinlin - Don't beat yourself up... your sprites are awesome in their own right...

PaperRockScisorz - I've been into Final fantasy as long as I can remember... I remember watching my parents play FFI and Crystalis all the time and soon thereafter I was playing too... yay...

ochibi - Thanks for the suggestions, I'll take some of them into consideration... except the atari one, I'm not a fan of crazy monotone sprites, sorry... but as for the other punch out guys, they are coming - eventually...

pendelton - Thanks for the shriek, he's even more impressive in person, and bigger than the cardboard I use to keep my big sprites on... I had to get a bigger box... ^^

Bantaro - That is the Easytype sprite from Final fantasy IV, on the super nintendo... easytype... once you used the crystal on him he transformed into that form... but on FFIV advance he was a secret boss in the secret lunar ruins...

DoctorOctoroc - Thank you for explaning Bantaro's Zeromus issues...

And so, here are my newest ones, also on my deviantART, if you want larger more detailed pictures...

Spiderchick (Kisenian) and Whipchick (Avery) both from Sailormoon: Another Story
Eugeal also from Sailormoon: Another Story, Gau from FFVI, and Typhlosion from Pokemon
Gilgamesh from FFV
A name placard I made for my friend Caitlyn's birthday
Dave, Razor, Bernard, and Sandy from Maniac Mansion
Gyroman, Pharoahman, and Cutsman from Megaman 5, 4, and 1 respectively
Bartz, Lenna, Faris, Galuf, and Cara from FFV as Mystic Knights
Bartz, Lenna, Faris, Galuf, and Cara from FFV as Rangers
Bartz, Lenna, Faris, Galuf, and Cara from FFV as Berzerkers
Charmander, Charmeleon, and Charizard from Pokemon
Ichigo and Rukia from Jump Superstars (although I copied Sunshines image instead of the actual sprites)

So, I have some other pictures in the works, including Lich from FFI: Dawn of souls, some Dragon Warrior I enemies, and some megaman dudes... others too, those are just the next three on deck... until next time...

And so, I get t showing my latest piece... it's only one which may be a shock to some of you since I usually post a bunch at once, but now that i have the internet at my house, i'm more readily available to post when I have a new picture to do so...

Some 8bit Dragon Warrior I Enemies, Dragon, Blue Slime, Drakee, Wolf, Ghost, Scorpion, and a Magician...

I also have a commission to post and am working on three other simultaneously (which is what I shouldn't do as I'm still in old post a bunch at once mode) I'll post the commission after Christmas as it's a gift for the buyer's sister...

Until next time...

Good to see you've returned. You have a wonderful selection of new pieces.

Me personally, I've kinda hit a creative wall and haven't made a sprite in months.

Oobgarm - Yeah, I took a rather unintentional break, but I'm back and trying to kick ass at making more of these guys, thay are so much fun... Although, if you haven't made any in a few months either, I guess I don't feel so bad... but you should really get around that creative wall and just make what you enjoy to make... that's all we really can do...

BrYaN55 - Thanks, I have lots of work, yes... but most of it is small... I should really get crackingon som of the bigger ones I've been pushing off for far too long...

And now for my newest ones, I posted these up about a week ago on my dA, but now I'll mirror them here... yay...

Cao Cao, Sun Quan, and Lei Bei from Romance or the Three Kingdoms
Down-left angled super missile shooting samus and a giant desgeega, also a super missile tank...
Great Tiger from Punch-Out!!

I'm working on the rest of my megaman bosses because I want to finish them before starting the 7, 8, and 9 ones... I'm also slowly drudging through my 16bit Lich...
