There's no sprite for it; I made it directly on the board. That's why the eyes are a little big too, since I didn't have a source image.

I've received some more black beads today so I can really start to do bigger projects. Still waiting for about 70k beads next week so that'll be when I get to multiboard beadsprites

Cute Metroid; did you custom-make the sprite for that, too, or is it somewhere on one of the sprite websites? If so, linkplz.

Getting a shipment of black beads is so SATISFYING. Mine actually followed me to my parents' house while I was visiting. It's like they knew I was running low...

(or I have a different address listed on PayPal than on eBay and the seller used the former since I was buying directly from her, but I like the first explanation better)

The metroid is the exact sprite from the first game but I've changed some of the colors; added some white and clear to it.

You can find the spritesheet here :http://sdb.drshnaps.com/sheets/Nintendo/Misc/Metroid/TourianEnemies.gif

Anyone got a tip to stop my beadsprites from curling up like the prinny's feet? I Try to put as much weight as quick as possible but I doesn't always seem to work.

It could be that the sprites are large enough that the edges start curling before you're done ironing the rest of the sprite. If you don't already, iron on the hottest setting possible, to finish as soon as you can. For exceptionally large sprites, do it bit by bit -- iron the feet, put a book over that part, iron the legs, move the book up to cover the legs, etc.

For myself, I flip my sprites over 3 times when ironing them and leave the weight on them until completely cool. It gets me pretty good results.

I lack the boards, the beads, and the time to make larger sprites. Mine usually fit on a single board, with a little overlap onto a second board sometimes. A trick I discovered with the small sprites is to put the convex side of a curling sprite against a flat section of my freezer's wall for a few seconds. This quickly cools the sprite and causes the convex side to contract and flatten out the sprite. If I overdo it, I just cool off the opposite side or take the iron to it again. It may take a few tries, but it's worked pretty well for me. I still use a heavy hardcover book (The Ultimate Encyclopedia of Mythology) to reinforce the flatness of the sprite and keep the sprite sandwiched between two sheets of ironing paper to keep it clean.

I've been struggling for weeks to figure out a way to make a decent prinny with my limited color palette. Did you use butterscotch for the legs and beak? Did you try to use a different color for the wings? My sprite features the wing with a purplish tone but the official plushes have red wings. I think creme is a close approximation to the eye color on my sprite sheet. Did you try using a color other than white for the eye? Did you try using a greater range of blue colors for the body? Have you tired of my questions yet, dood?

I haven't tried a lot of different colors for any of the parts but will do so when I get a larger variety of beads.

I did use butterscotch for the legs and beak.

I've always found that if you apply a little heat to the opposite side (it doesn't even have to be enough heat to melt the beads any further, just enough to make them slightly pliable) it counteracts the curling. Just run the iron over the back side for about 10 seconds (for smaller, 1-2 board sprites), then put your weighing device down on the beadsprite.

Did anyone see a difference as to the side you put the weight on? I always put the side that's curling facing up but I may be wrong.

I gave a shot at a second Red Ring of Death since the first one was overfused and all smudged. I used semi clear beads for the red and green, clears to finish the circle like the real power button and some more white around the beadsprite.

I generally do it with the curling side face down. I couldn't say why, but it makes sense to me.

I like the Red Ring of Death. XD Inventive.
