So I made my Terra Esper today and have decided to make my very own section in the Member's part of the forum. I'm in the process of moving right now, so I won't be making very many, but after I'm done with my move I plan to finally buy some connecting pegboards and more beads and get to work. Very Happy

Mog the Moogle from FVI

Black Mage from FFIII

Terra in her Esper form from FFVI
I sort of customized her sprite, but by that I mean I only added like 5 or so pixels to the ends of her hair on the right side because I didn't want her head to look so square.

Metroid!! I'm copied this from a bead sprite that someone else already made, and I THINK it's their custom one so if it's yours let me know so I can credit [and thank] you.

As a bonus picture, I give you... Gracie v. Metorid

One of these days I'll get around to taking a picture of the Boo that I made for my boyfriend. It was my first bead sprite ever.

I really like that Moogle. All that clear around him was a nice touch.

I hate moving. I always lose something while moving and it takes so long to unpack.

The metroid's not a custom sprite; it's from the original NES Metroid

Thank you, Kyra. I've never lived in another city before, so I'm pretty much a wreck right now. Let's just hope that I don't lose anything because I'd probably implode [because exploding is so overrated]. =P

& thanks for letting me know it wasn't a custom. All I found when I looked up metriod sprite was the bead sprite, so I'm quite surprised it wasn't a custom drawn or something. =) Good. Now I don't feel bad about making it.

So I FINALLY got a picture of Boo. I apologize for both the terrible quality of my first bead sprite and for the lack of a background better than my legs for the picture of said horrible sprite. We were in a car at night at a gas station when I remembered to take the picture, so I had to make due with what I had.

I want to make more today, but I have to start doing stuff to get ready for my big move [since I haven't started and the move is one week away]. =P

I have no idea what I'll make next because the only beads I have are leftovers from two random mix buckets. I want to do something exciting that no one has done yet... good luck to me finding that something, right?

My best advice for getting ready to move (ie packing) is to group everything together based on what it is or how important it is to you. Plush toys are more then happy to live in a trash bag for a few days. Use a suitcase for what it was made for, clothes. And everything that you use on a daily basis like your keys, wallet and your phone in a bag that you keep in your sight at all times. Being a girl, you would think this to be easy, but last time I moved I accidentally packed up my keys and total chaos ensued.

And I think Boo turned out just fine. Your ironing is a little uneven, but I haven't gotten the hang of it either.

On a side note, is Boo being kept in the car? If it gets really hot where you are, does the heat have any noticeable effect on him? Just 2 weeks ago it was 110 here, and I wouldn't dare leave a bead sprite in a car in that heat.

He doesn't live in the car. He was in the car because my boyfriend took him to his friend's house with the metroid to show them because he thinks they're really cool. =) I wouldn't dare keep them in the car either. I think Josh is going to hang boo from his guitar when he plays shows and stuff. I should probably make him a better one if he's going to do that though.

BUMP!

No just kidding. I move for good on Wednesday and will order beads and pegboards when I get settled in the next day or two. I'm still working with one 14x14 peg pegboard. eek!!

Yoshi inspired me today to make some sprites with what's left of my color palate [I think I spelled that wrong] atm. Now I'm almost 100% sure I'm done until I get my new beads though because I only have apprx 30 black left.

So here we go. DoctorOctoroc, I didn't go back to your etsy to see if you made all of these for your pokemon set or not. Hopefully at least on of them wasn't in yours. The pokemon idea was inspired by DoctorOctoroc, and the sprites are from the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games because they're the cutest ones. ;D

Charmander [made because nothing else is orange]

Pichu [made for a friend as a late birthday present]

Mew [made because I had no other use for the insane amount of pink that comes in tubs]

And that's all for now. Back to FFIV DS! =P

Here's a tip- White spreads like buttah.
So,if you read up in my or Doctor Octoroc's own journal how to do the "Run Flat" method, where there are no holes, or very few- it will look excellant on Boo.

I did a sprite of Mog. It was the same sprite as yours but I used a couple different colors. I am still waiting for the rest of my beads to show up so I have the full Perler rainbow to choose from. I gave it to one of my friends before I took a picture of it... Lame...

I also plan on doing a Metroid and more Final Fantasy so please excuse the overlap in sprites we will eventually have =P

My favorite sprite of yours would have to be Mew. Not bad considering you were just trying to use up pinks! She looks so nice and cute... I just want to hug her.

I love it when my little thread has comments. Very Happy

Thank you, thank you! I wish you would have taken a picture of your Mog before you gave it away. Perhaps if you ever see him again you could sneak a picture. Haha! I'm interested in seeing the different colors you chose.

I appreciate the love for Mew, too. I liked her a lot, so I was hoping someone would eventually say something about her.

The overlap in our sprites will be no problem at all. One of these days I'll have all of FFVI beaded... that's my ultimate goal. It seems like it's really difficult to do anything original these days.

You should do all of FF6 and then make a movie of the entire game using bead sprites.

Also do voice-overs using only your voice.

You'll make millions!

Eeek!! Today is a good day for me. Very Happy Thank you, sweet friends.

I love the movie idea!! That would be wonderful. If nothing else I'll make a quick video of the uselessness of Gau and Yeti or something. Perhaps a commentary on why Terra (or Celes when Terra is away), Edgar, Mog, and Shadow are the wininest team ever! =P OR I could write a love story using... idk some crazy pair of people. This could be fun.

I <3 my Mog & my Mew. They're one of the few I intended to hang up in my tiny apartment bedroom.

In the case of the Black Mage though it kinda works in a weird contrarian kind of way.

My next/next project. Razz

I thought a screen shot like this existed from the end cut-scenes, but, alas, I was mistaken. Tonight I made this using references from two different sprite websites & MS Paint [which I later realized was a huge mistake because I'll have to remake it before I use it as a template].

Anyway, I won't be beading this, but I will be stitching it. [Take it to the cross-stitch forum, I know. Well, the cross-stitch forum just isn't as interactive and friendly, so gtf over it!! Very Happy]

This picture will be edited in both major ways and minor way before I start the stitching. It's 240ishx170ish pixels, so it's too massive to even start working on until I know I won't regret any choices I made in the design.

Also, I'm going to do one smaller big project before I start this just to make sure I'm ready.

POINT: Make comments so I can take them into consideration whilst making my changes please & thank you.

<3 <3 <3

I hope you guys are excited because I sure am!! [Anyone who wants to bead this can feel free!!]

HOLY CRAP!!! That piece looks AMAZING! Can't wait to see it stitched.

Also, I agree with you about Sprite Stitch.

wow. i can't wait to see this done. i think you might want to move shadow to the right about 1 or 2 pixels and if it were me i would use a different sprite for terra. by the end of the game she is a lot more confident with here self, and i get the this would be something from the ending. also something about me wants to see General Leo in their somewhere, maybe change hiss palette so its his ghost or something. sorry this is my fav game so i am a little opinionated about it. either way i can't wait to see the finished product. Surprised

Thanks you guys so much! <3

Malice, it's my favorite game, too, so I really appreciate your suggestions. I chose that sprite of Terra for the sake of giving the piece a little more "layering" (sorry I just woke up, and my word processor isn't fully functional yet). I'm one step ahead of you though. I have a file saved already with the other Terra sprite off to the side so I can change it. Razz And I'll certainly consider General Leo. I almost feel like it's too cluttered as it is, but I'm going to play with it this weekend.

Thank you so much for suggesting things. MORE PEOPLE NEED TO SUGGEST STUFF *tee hee*!! If you think of anything else let me know.

By the way... the finished product is going to take a ridiculously long time, but if the world doesn't end I hope you're all still around the forum to see it.

I really really like it the way it is (after you move shadow a bit more onto the ship:)) I think this is really great and I cannot wait to see you start on it. Best of luck to ya ! ! !
