Did you finish any with the wood blocks? I'd love to see them if so.

I must also remark on your impeccable taste in games. Wink

i never ended up trying the block idea. it was gonna cost way to much, for the paint and blocks
to do a couple different sprites

thanks for my taste. im a huge fan of the real 8-bit looking stuff.
i even found the original nes font used in most nes games.
here are some sprites i have made.

i have been wanting to do some snes sprites but most use several variations of one color.
i want to buy some beads online. but i dont know what colors to get.

You'll want variations on green and blue. Those particular colors have a nice palette. Yellow is pretty good too, as there's a great 'in between' color for it and orange.

The only colors that will give you trouble are red and gray. There are smoke-colored clear beads that can suffice for a darker shade of gray, and pearl white beads that might work as a lighter shade. My research has not turned up a darker shade of red, though there are beads called 'claret', which is a darker red with a tinge of purple to it-so they don't really jive well as a 'maroon' if you will.

Hey Oobgarm, don't forget about the dark red beads by Hama... If you're going to mention Claret (a hama color), you gotta mention Dark red... it's very essential...

But If I had to recommend anything, it would be to get at least one 1000 bag of every color... even the glitter... because you never know when just that perticular shade of _______ will only do. Obviously get the main colors first, and then work your way to the pastels, neons, transparents, andglitters (probably in that order)

Oh, and great start Dick01, I'd like to see what you do next... Oh, and something I just noticed, your metroid is backwards...

EDIT: Added info on metroid at the end

So here is some of my true NES nerd comming thru.
i bought the brand new Green Dell online, and when i got it, i had to make it personal.

Then a week or so later i wanted to buy a case for it, and picked up a aluminum breifcase for laptops
for 30 bux. Once again the nerdyness kicks in.

like i explain on an earlier post, this 1up is an experiment that i think turned out pretty good.
instead of transfering the obivious 1 bead = 1 pixel. i did 4 beads = 1 pixel. to scale it larger and
not lose the effect.

can you tell im a fan of the 1up.

sorry bout the size of the pics

heres a couple more i made a little bit ago but i hadnt had a chance to post em

i really like the crashman. i find most sprites with a black outline turn out pretty well.
like all the megaman bosses. so i think im gonna finish all the bosses from megaman 2.

im looking for some decent snes sprites to do. my problem is with the beads i have
i cant seem to find enough of one color to do like a megman. a basic snes megaman has around 4
different shades of blue, and i cant seem color match it very well.

but most of you manage to do it so well.
im so jealous. lol.
